"Have Your Say..."

A short time ago The Friends of Dene Barton became aware  that a consultation is taking place regarding action to be taken in respect of the closed beds at Dene Barton Community Hospital.  We were officially notified on Wednesday of this week, and asked if we would respond to the consultation,  with a closing date of 22nd January.

We held a meeting yesterday afternoon to consider our response, and thought that the users of the Cotford Forum might like to be made aware of the situation -   we have therefore attached a copy of the consultation document for your information that you may respond to the Somerset Partnership Trust with your own views if you so desire---

Disappointed that the friends held a meeting without public in attendence. As we could understand more behind the closure and how to interpret the consultation doc.
The friends have done sooomuch over time to raise funds , obtain equipment and improve the grounds by their effort , therefore it would be sad to see this close . Once  closed i can only see the site being sold for housing and so lost forever.

Hello, Knockman,

Thank you for expressing your interest and concerns on here.

The Friends of Dene Barton would welcome anyone at any of their meetings and now you have opened a channel of hindsight that we should have broadcast on here that we were intending to get together (albeit at short notice) to glean some understanding ourselves regarding Somerset Partnership Trust's plans for consultation about the closure of beds due to staff shortages.

We will, therefore, use this facility to inform the Forum users of any meetings in the future and to keep you updated with progress of the current situation.

We share your hope that the problems will soon be rectified and the ward which is at present closed, will once again be serving its purpose in caring for the people of the Taunton Deane (and wider) community....
