Had a really great meal at the Chapel on Tuesday evening. My friends who are interested in visiting Thailand thought the meal was delicious and the setting superb. We had a platter to share followed by steak curry and prawn noodles.
We really are lucky to have this facility on our doorstep.

The Friends of Dene Barton would like to say a HUGE "Thank You"  to The Chapel for last Saturday night---

The Easter Party featuring the talented Tom Carpenter serenading us Michael-Buble-style is what drew the crowd to The Chapel (us included!) and, in the warm and friendly atmosphere, an enjoyable evening was spent chatting, singing-along and dancing to numbers such as 'Feeling Good' and 'Just Haven't Met You Yet' ---

It is with sincere gratitude that we would like to thank Craig and Rachel, proprietors of The Chapel, for the generosity of their gift to our funds --- over 250 has been donated from ticket sales---

---so, because of the combination of their gesture of kindness, coupled with the support of everyone who bought a ticket, the freshly prepared patches of earth in our garden project at the hospital will soon be blooming with plants---

Thank you all so much ----  Smiley

Just says closed on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/chapelcotford/). No mention of why or for how long.

There are rumours that the chapel has closed and the 'owners' have 'gone'

Seems very strange? I was in there on Monday and the owners were discussing where they would put the stage scaffolding on there next event.

The Facebook page is down now too!?

There's a notice on The Chapel door this evening saying:

"The Pub will be open on Saturday 7th January from 12pm. Please join us for drinks and Pizza."

So does anyone know what actually happened?

It appears the thai side of the food has vanished, and there is a lot of focus on pizza on the facebook (no mention of thai) along with some very obviously deliberate trip adviser reviews saying how great the pizza is (which it is!)

Also something about licencing, owners "taking back control" and ive heard rumours about the thai chef?

Anyone have any solid info? Would be a massive shame to lose the chapel as its finally turned into a great local!!

Sounds like the landlord decided to rack up a load of debt on the Chapel's books to fund the dive that is the Apple & Parrot in town after trying to screw his way around the village.
Sad for the residents, another one bites the dust.
