Title: Growing gardens
Post by JT on 01. Aug 2017 at 23:57
Anyone noticed that several gardens around the village appear to be growing? Two backing on to the Meadow have suddenly doubled in size as well as the one backing on to the park by the big tree at Burge Crescent.  Hope they're all legit and not a land grab.

When it comes to selling these properties unless all the legalities have been complied with extreme difficulties can be experienced. :-[

Nice fencing on the ones backing onto the meadow. Shame about the monstrosity next to the big tree   :-/

There seems tobe a spate of land grabs in Cotford. Bethel Mead has several properties that regularly mow the flood plain grass and have set up tables and chairs permanently on the land. Shrubs being used to mark boundaries with their neighbours. I was told that the flood plain committee regularly walks the area but no action seems coming.
A dog walk went from the flood plain beside the pumping station into bethal mead but this land has been blocked off both at the resonator pond to pumping station by a fence and at the bethel mead end by gates. These gates stop entrance to the pumping station and emergency entrance to the school.
On the fence issue. the parish council did say that in the parish building regs state no fence over 6ft is allowed.
It would be good if the parish council and Taunton Deane would take immediate action. At least that would alert these people that someone is watching.  These actions are ugly.
