Seriously, (while Tempus is tied up with Miss Moneypenny!) it does seem as though many garage door cables are wearing out. My daughter-in-law's door got jammed today and her neighbour said his needed repairing a little while ago. When our own went, the cable had worn out and my husband ordered a new set on-line. They were reasonably priced and arrived in a couple of days.

Looks like between £200 and £300 depending on how secure and quality a design you want, plus installation.
