Farmers Market
24. Feb 2010 at 14:57

I was passing the shop the other evening and happened to see a notice stating the village farmers market was no longer!
Does anyone know why? or if it is temporary/permanent? Huh

That's such a shame!  Sad

I haven't heard whether it's temporary or permanent, Villager 2 and I hadn't seen the Notice.

If we find out any more, we'll post it on here.

Last time I spoke with the butcher who was the coordinator of the market she said that there just wasn't enough village support to make it financially worthwhile for the stall holders. I believe there was also a clash with other more profitable markets.

It's the old adage "Use it or Loose it" but what a shame. Sad

Although at this moment in time there isn't a Farmers Market running in  Cotford we must never say never. I am sure that sometime in the future it will start up again. I would like to say how much it is missed and more than that we miss the craft market which was just getting settled and improving every month thanks to their organiser. Smiley Smiley

Welcome to the Forum, bumbles!  Smiley

It would be nice to think the Farmers Market will start up again sometime: I miss it, too.

Apart from the obvious purpose of purchasing produce [whoops, is that too many words beginning with 'p' in one sentence?!]---it was a good time to meet and chat with neighbours over a 'cuppa'.

Hope it happens again one day--------- Huh

No but the old servicemans adage of "proper preperation and planning prevents p***-poor performance" is. Hence, it is usually referred to as the "six P's!"

See how a chance remark, such as mine was, opens up a channel of enlightenment!!

I hadn't heard of 'The six p's', Tempus so I've just looked on Google following your reply and learnt much from the info I've stumbled across there!

Thanks - another educational trip thanks to the Forum.  Smiley

No wonder the Farmers Market closed through lack of business, six peas would not be enough for me! Roll Eyes

No, but then they probably didn't have compatibility issues between their spell-checker add-on and the latest version of Firefox, either!

---maybe it was a tiny typing error, Tempus.

You probably wouldn't prefer people to  portray you as being practically perfect in every way------  Wink
