I might try to venture out that night, don't usually drink but what the heck you only live once.

You're in luck, Henry - the pub offers a full range of non-alcoholic beverages to cater to all tastes as well as an array of falling-over waters.

Thank you Colin, it was another stupendous evening!

(I especially appreciated you playing my requested songs - they are special to me for their own reasons and having you sing them in the Chapel made them more special.)

It was good, too, to have a few numbers played for us by Jordan's band.

So a big thank you, Colin, Ray and Phil and Jordan.  Smiley

Aw shucks you're welcome Marilyn, sorry I missed a couple out that you and other people had requested - eg Cos I luv you, Alive, Nothing else Matters, Mandy etc. Will try and fit them in next time. It was great to have a few more musicians along this time to add variety to the evening ( and give my tired voice and fingers a rest ) glad everyone enjoyed it, thank you all for your kind comments.
We're back again on St Patricks night Wednesday 17th March doing a few special numbers in St Paddy's honour. We're also,I think playing at the end of the month as a leaving party for Collette and then we'll be back again on thursday 29th April. So make a note n your diaries, warm up your tonsils and dust down your tambourines etc. See you soon.  Smiley

Are you still taking requests, Colin? That little known song "Times Like These" by that unheard-of band, Foo Fighters, might work (having heard an acoustic version on a colleagues iFake whilst at work last month).

Hi Anvil, yep definitely taking requests, although didn't manage to fit some of them in last time. Can definitely do 'Times like these' - in fact the band has recently added this one to our set list ( the loud version) i love the acoustic version and will look forward to doing it for you soon.  Cool

Just a quick reminder for everyone that Ray and I will be playing at the chapel again tomorrow night for St Patricks Night. It'll be Molly Malone, Danny Boy, Irish Rover, Boyzone, westlife, U2,Van Morrison and anything else remotely Irish all night plus a few suprises and some of those previously requested - plus a few pints of the black stuff no doubt.we'll be there from about 8.30 look forward to seeing you.  Smiley Grin

"Top of the morning!" on this St. Patrick's Day!

Thanks for the Craic, Colin.

So it's lunchtime in the Chapel at 12.30 and a proper Irish jig and sing-along session tonight!

Shaun and Kim are cooking a Lamb Stew and Soda Bread (with a glass of Guiness included in the price of less than £10)

See you there------------ Smiley

In Cotfords fair city    where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Marilyn Malone
As she pushed her wheel barrow  throught the streets broad and narrow  Crying 'to the chapel to the chapel
Alive alive oh!'  (hee hee!)  Grin

(---would that I were in the likeness of she - but, thank you, Colin!  Smiley )

The others did meet her
And came out to greet her,
Saying "Off to the Chapel?
But why M. Mallone?"
She winked and she curtsied,
And said, " 'Twould be 'hurt-seed',
If guitars would be strumming,
While you're stuck at home!"

Then all of the people,
Looked yon at the steeple,
And cried, "We'll be gathered
With you, M. Mallone;
We've heard there is music
And food and great friendship,
So we can't have you jigging
In there all alone.!"  Wink
